June 2001 Ace Books buys two sequel novels to Ill Met by Moonlight.

In All Night Awake, due in 2002, Will Shakespeare finds himself caught in an intricate web of deceit and intrigue spun by his idol, the darling of the London stage, Christopher "Kit" Marlowe.  As the lies mount and the Queen Elizabeth's Privy Council closes in, ready to condemn innocent Will for a conspiracy against the Queen, Will's old friend Quicksilver, King of the magical fairy realm, comes to his aid.  But Kit Marlowe is no stranger to the elf King, either, and long-buried feelings between them may blind them both before Will can make it out of this mess alive....

In 2003, look for Any Man So Daring, when the fairy realm once again reaches out to ensnare Will Shakespeare.  The elf King, Quicksilver, has lost control of the fairy realm and one of his trusted lieutenants has gone too far.  In a chilling echo of his first encounter with the fairies, Will's only son, Hamnet, is kidnapped.  Once again, Will must venture into the magical world inside Arden Wood, this time to rescue his beloved son.  But the rules are different now, and not even Quicksilver can help him in a game more dangerous than anything he's imagined....

August 1999 Ace Books buys Ill Met by Moonlight for publication in 2001.

In Ill Met by Moonlight, young Will Shakespeare is drawn into the magical world of elves and fairies when the elf King in nearby Arden Wood kidnaps Will's wife, Anne, and their infant daughter, Susannah.  The beloved King and Queen of the fairies, Oberon and Titania (whom Will would later chronicle in A Midsummer Night's Dream), have been brutally murdered and their eldest son has stolen the throne from his brother, the prince Quicksilver.  Will and the prince join forces in both the human world and the fairy realm, but before Will can rescue Anne and Susannah, before Quicksilver can rightfully claim his throne, they must face the elf King, who hides a secret that threatens both humans and fairies alike with extinction...
